Custom Silicone Mold Manufacturing

Custom silicone molds are widely used in manufacturing because silicone requires precise process control to achieve stable and repeatable output. Unlike many elastomers, silicone’s behaviour during curing and flow is highly sensitive to tooling design, venting, and temperature management. This is why working with an experienced silicone mold manufacturer is important for maintaining consistent production quality in LSR and HCR applications.

At Krishani Product Development, we design custom silicone molds for industrial use where repeatability and dimensional control are critical. Our focus is on real manufacturing conditions, ensuring each tooling system performs reliably during continuous production.

The Custom Silicone Mold design process is structured around practical manufacturing outcomes rather than theoretical design alone. Early decisions directly impact material flow, curing consistency, dimensional accuracy, and long-term tooling stability in production environments.

Material and Process Options for Silicone Applications

Selecting the right material and process is one of the most important decisions in silicone component development. LSR and HCR follow different production methods, and each requires specific tooling considerations depending on the operating environment and production requirements. Choosing the right approach helps support dimensional accuracy, repeatability, and long-term production stability.

Rubber Mold
LSR

LSR processing typically involves controlled injection flow, precision gating and venting, and stable thermal control. It is commonly used where production consistency, complex geometries, and repeatable component quality are important.

HCR

HCR processing can be used in compression or transfer molding processes, depending on the component and production requirements. It is often selected for applications where compression molding and controlled curing performance are required.

Components WeManufacture

Through our custom silicone mold manufacturing capabilities, we support the production of precision silicone molded products used across industrial applications. These components are designed around the material type and process conditions, with tooling developed to support stable flow, curing, and dimensional accuracy.

Every application comes with different requirements, which is why we consider factors such as operating conditions, material selection, tooling design, and production requirements throughout the manufacturing process.

Common applications include :

  • Sealing and gasket systems
  • Electrical insulation components
  • Medical and healthcare parts
  • Automotive silicone components
  • High-temperature industrial parts
  • Fluid handling systems

Depending on the design and intended use of the component, engineers may use different tooling strategies to achieve the required performance and consistency. Whether the requirement involves a precision silicone component or a more demanding industrial application, the focus remains on producing parts that perform reliably in service.

Supporting Consistent Production Quality |

Manufacturing reliable silicone components requires more than simply matching a drawing. Tooling precision, cavity alignment, venting, surface quality, curing conditions, and process behaviour all influence consistency throughout production.

To support production stability, we focus on :

  • Dimensional inspection
  • Cavity alignment verification
  • Venting performance checks
  • Surface quality evaluation
  • Lifecycle monitoring

Our capabilities support everything from initial development and prototype validation to full production tooling systems. The goal is to deliver tooling that meets customer specifications while maintaining reliable performance from one production cycle to the next.

RUBBER MOLDING PROCESSES WE USE

In rubber manufacturing, the process really depends on how the part is designed, what material is being used, and how many pieces are needed. Different methods are used in practice, and each one behaves a bit differently in terms of cost, consistency, and detail.

01

Transfer Molding

This process is somewhat between compression and injection. It is used when compression molding doesn't give enough control over dimensions or when inserts need to be held in place during molding.

02

Extrusion

Extrusion is a bit different from the other three. Instead of forming individual parts, it produces continuous rubber profiles, cords, strips, or sealing sections and is commonly used for long sealing runs.

FROM CONCEPT TO
PRODUCTION |

The success of a rubber component often depends on decisions made before manufacturing begins. Material choice, part geometry, tooling strategy, and production requirements can all influence performance, cost, and lead time.

Our team works with customers during the early stages of development to review application requirements and identify practical manufacturing solutions. This collaborative approach helps address potential challenges before production starts, reducing unnecessary revisions and supporting a smoother development process.

OUR SUPPORT CAN INCLUDE:

  • Material recommendations based on operating conditions
  • Design feedback for improved manufacturability
  • Tooling and production planning
  • Prototype development and evaluation
  • Transition to full-scale manufacturing

For projects that require dedicated tooling, we also provide rubber mold manufacturing services to help accelerate product development and production readiness.
